Wau is the
traditional Malaysian term for kite/s, and is one of Malaysia’s
national symbols of favorite past times. It is intricately designed
with colorful flower motives and, was historically used by farmers
as scarecrows to protect their crops. The sounds of the flying kites
also acted as lullabies to put their small children to sleep,
therefore gave the farmers ample time to tend to their crops without
distractions. These kites would be flown by the farmers during their
spare time after harvesting season is over. These kites are normally
found in the east-coast states of Kelantan and Trengganu, and
